Description:
The Moulton Reservoir ski area offers 14.3 km (8.9 miles) of groomed trails.  The trails are set in dense lodgepole forest with short traverses through open meadows.  The terrain consists of undulating hills with either challenging climbs or easy cruises, depending on trail selection. The trails are on the narrow side, which makes for a cozy ski experience and lends itself well to classic style XC skiing.  Please be advised that the trails are accessed through a shared access road about 0.6 miles (0.9 km) long, so you may see snowmobiles or other vehicles for a bit.

Trails are groomed and maintained by the Mile High Nordic Ski Education Foundation in conjunction with the U. S. Forest Service.

The Moulton trailhead is located approximately 10 miles north of Butte on Moulton Reservoir Road.
