Description:
The Bitterroot Ridgerunners snowmobile club grooms the Skalkaho Highway (12 miles out) and Skalkaho/Rye Road (28+ miles) once per week. Grooming on Skalkaho Highway goes over the pass and all the way to the gate 1 mile from the Sapphire mine on the Philipsburg side. The Skalkaho/Rye Road is groomed from Skalkaho Pass road to within 6 miles of highway 93, south of Darby.

The club also grooms Lost Horse Canyon (just south of Hamilton on the west side) up to the ranger cabin at the base of Twin Lakes and Bear Creek Pass.

Location:
3 miles south of Hamilton, MT, take the Skalkaho Highway (MT 38) east 13.5 miles to the Skalkaho/Rye road, or another mile or so farther to the gate for access to the trail over the pass.

Dogs:
Dogs are allowed on the trails.

If you use the grooming regularly, you can buy a membership from the Ridgerunners for $15. Everyone is welcome on the trails, but be aware of the snowmobilers and be polite, their money pays for the grooming.
